Albert Vigil (1927- 2009 ) and Josephine Cordova Vigil (1927-2001) worked together producing pottery their entire married life. Josephine made the pottery and Albert painted them.  Albert Vigil was the nephew of Maria Martinex and the son of painter Romando Vigil.

Josephine Cordova Vigil was originally from Taos Pueblo but moved to San Ildefonso when marrying Albert.  Josephine credits Albert's aunt  Maria Martinez who helped get them started making pottery, and his aunt Clara who showed her how to stone polish.
