There is evidence of trade with Native American peoples. It grows in clay as free-form nuggets, rather than as veins, which is typical of many North American turquoises. Its color is said to most closely resemble Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, and ranges from a light to medium blue, occasionally with pyrite inclusions, giving it a bit of sparkle. A lovely, hard stone with beautiful color and matrix, Campitos is a favorite for jewelry artisans. The mine as we know it today has been producing since the 1980's. Campito in Spanish is a derivative of the word “campo”, meaning “field” or “countryside”.

SUGILITE
Sugilite is a vibrant shade of purple, and was first described in 1944 by the Japanese petrologist Ken-ichi Sugi for an occurrence on Iwagi Islet, Japan. It is also found in Quebec, Canada and in Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Sugilite is mined from a strata-bound manganese deposit and is recognized by its bright purple color, often seen with some black accents.

CULTURED OPAL
Cultured Opals are synthetic and Pure Opals are all natural. Cultured Opals, often referred to as opalite, are created in laboratories. While natural stones are preferred, because opals are fragile, the use of Cultured Opals is common.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0242/5605/3353/files/IMG_2831_284b410f-a541-424a-89cb-33c4714c5fa4.jpg?v=1779569144
https://thesundancegallery.com/products/supersmith-collection-contemporary-channel-inlay-sterling-silver-bracelet-with-turquoise-opal-and-sugilite-stones-1-449
